- Poor preparation
- Surface contamination
- Poor cleaning
- Not tacking off
- Not sanded
- Exceeding stated re-coat times
- Dry application of primer systems
- Incorrect system selection
- Fluid tip too small or too large
- Insufficient flash-off times
- Spraying temperature too low or too high
Prevention
- Sand the surface according to the technical data
sheet
- Use the correct spraying technique. Avoid heavy
application.
- Use correct fluid tip size
- Allow recommended flash-off times in relation to:
spraying temperature, air speed, thinner choice
Remedies
- Strip and clean or sand down and repaint
