Nobel Aerospace Coatings partnered with Air Canada and
FutureBrand to develop an updated design and color
scheme for Air Canada's new fleet. ANAC worked closely
with FutureBrand to select finishes to satisfy Air
Canada's desire for a contemporary look. As the nation's flag carrier, the new
image represents Air Canada's restructuring and
revitalization. Working within tight time constraints to meet Air Canada's
unveiling event, a complex mica paint design was chosen,
which made a teamwork approach even more critical. ANAC
was able to meet the challenge; Air Canada successfully unveiled their
new look and brand on October 19, 2004.

In 2003 ANAC worked closely
with Northwest Airlines, Airbus and Boeing when
Northwest introduced its first new aircraft paint scheme
since 1989. Working with the airline as well as
the OEMs ensured design consistency of the paint scheme
across both aircraft models. Northwest chose an
innovative silver metallic paint scheme for their 436
aircraft. Northwest expects cost savings as a result of
several factors, including overall durability. The
livery will allow Northwest to extend paint cycles for
individual aircraft from five to six years. A clear coat
paint finish makes the livery more durable and dark
pigment has been removed from the fuselage paint scheme.
